What makes your venue the Best Gastropub in New Zealand?


The concept itself is quite unique, with a blend of butchery-steak house-gin room-boutique bottle store-cocktail bar (under one roof).

The decor is a mix of 80s R&B with classic gangster movies and rustic timber.


 

Describe the experience your customers have at your establishment – what is your food and beverage offering and why do people come back for more?

We offer a huge selection, from picking your own steak to choosing your rubs and sauces. We have options like tomahawks and scotch eye fillet, and if you're lucky, we'll have some Wagyu in stock. Our most popular burger is the Rich Bad Girl with Wagyu beef and melted cheese. Our tacos are inspired by different countries; my personal favourite is the Sultan, featuring Pakistani lamb kofta kebabs with tahini and mint chutney. The flatbread pizzas, Godfather and Scarface, are a must-try. We boast a massive gin list and an ever-changing cocktail menu, with crowd favourites like Hey Flintstones and Gangster's Paradise.

Tell us how you showcase NZ produce / offerings? Does your menu change with the season and how is it locally influenced. How do you accommodate allergy and dietary requirements?

All our meats are sourced locally. Most best-selling dishes are gluten-free, and we offer off-the-menu dishes catering to allergy and dietary requirements.

 
 

What are your key points of difference and how have you managed to deliver them?

If it's your first time, you would have never seen anything like this in a small alleyway in the small town of Paihia. We keep adding new products and changing the menu regularly.

From Rob, aka Alex Rose, on the door to Karla, the floor manager, and Wallace, the crazy Brazilian bartender, they are here to entertain you and ensure you have a great time. Our commitment to customer service is paramount, and most of our staff hold manager's licenses, demonstrating their dedication to taking host responsibility very seriously.
