We are a family-friendly pub located in Whatawhata (7 mins west of Hamilton, heading towards Raglan).

The Whatawhata Hotel/Bridge Hotel/Whatawhata Tavern/The Backyard Bar & Eatery and now The Backyard Gastropub has been a part of the village of Whatawhata since the 1800's.

​159 years on The Backyard Gastropub is still a place for people to have a drink and hang out with friends and enjoy themselves - as it always has been. But it is now so much more - live music, great food, family and community are the key ingredients.
