Brunel Peaks Cafe & Bar

Nestled in the foothills of the majestic Takitimu Mountains in Southland, Brunel Peaks Cafe and Bar serves hearty fare cooked with love for locals and visitors to one of the remotest parts of New Zealand, right beside the ‘World’s last great wilderness'. Opened in early 2022 but over 60 years in the making, Brunel Peaks Café and Bar is open each day from dawn until dusk serving our local community of farmers and families, as well as professional drivers, boaties, nature lovers, and local and international tourists travelling on the Southern Scenic Route.

Operated in partnership between Jude Nicolson, a well-regarded Southland chef and the Robertson family, who built the Brunel Peaks Café and Bar on a corner of their farming property. Brunel Peaks Café and Bar is a welcome addition to a thriving community with no other hospitality venues. Locals are now warmly welcomed to meet for great food and drinks. We also offer catering for local community and sporting groups.

All our food is handmade in-house by our small team using locally sourced, sustainable ingredients whenever possible and we offer a curated selection of craft beers, regional wines and locally roasted coffee.
